Imagine a world without writing.  Think of all the things we read on a daily basis: internet blogs, newspapers, magazines, books, etc.  What would happen if those things didn’t exist?  Or if there were no one qualified to write them?

Most writing-related jobs require a four-year degree.  At the rate our economy is going, no one can afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a college education.  According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the average amount borrowed to go to college has increased by over 50%.  Add the credit crunch imposed by banks in recent years and you have students who simply can’t afford a four-year degree.

Without additional help, students looking to get into a writing profession are at a great disadvantage.  Simply put, we need writers to succeed in order to ensure all of the things we love to read remain intact.
